Learn to play the drums - Swing

Swing? Yea, Swing beats are in lots of different music genres, from Rock to Country even Hip Hop.

Swing started in the 1920's emerging from Jazz in the American South. Swing became popular in the 1930's with Benny Goodman and Bennie Moten and was considered the most popular music style through the late 1940's. Swing influenced many styles of music since the 1940's including the crooners Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, & Nat King Cole;  bandleaders like  the Dorsey Brothers and Duke Ellington; country artists like Jimmie Rodgers, Willie Nelson and many others; rock n roll artists like Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, and Elvis. Swing had a revival period in the late 1980's when bands like Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and the Squirrel Nut Zippers had great success. Swing continues to influence popular music throughout the world.
