Jim’s Drumming Credits

Jim McCall's extensive experience in all the popular music genres ranges from Rock, Country, Fusion, Blues, Reggae, Orchestral, Jazz, Latin and African including hand druming styles. Jim credits his drumming expertise to his years of study with the Percussive Arts Hall of Fame great, Henry Adler of New York City.  Some of Henry's students included Buddy Rich, Louis Bellson, Sonny Igoe, Roy Burns and Alex Acuna of "Weather Report." Other notable students of Henry's included Freddie Gruber who taught the Adler Method to drumming greats Neil Peart, Dave Weckl, Vinnie Colaiuta and Steve Smith. Through Jim McCall's teachings, students will learn the technique and methods used by some of the greatest drummers in the world.

 

Jim’s musical experience includes performances with many of the country music headliners including Roy Clark, Johnny Paycheck, Sylvia, Gary Miller, and Rick Nelson. Also included in Jim's credits are Jazz performances with Chuck Mangione and Easy Smith at the White House. Over the years Jim has played in just about all the popular musical genres. He moved to Lake Tahoe in 1990 and was the drummer for the hit Vegas show “Legends in Concert”, Dick Clark's American Bandstand, music director for Breck Wall's award winning show “Bottoms Up” and music director for dinner theater “Club Zulu”.   Most recent notable performances include the Jay Leno show, Larry the Cable Guy and Bill Cosby. Jim's educational works have been published all over the world reaching over 20,000 aspiring drummers in 127 countries and 37 different languages.
